    [OPEN] [#2646] Bridge.NET + Mono

    Hello guys,

I am trying to use Bridge.Net in Visual Studio Code on Debian version 7.1. It is a clean install. I installed Mono version 5.0.

If I try to build demo code (, it crashes (you can see in picture down there). Does anybody has experience with this problem? What is the last version it worked for you? (Mono or Bridge).
Even I tried it on Ubuntu with same result. Thanks for your advice.

This is caused by compatibility issues between Mono 4 and Mono 5.

There appears to be major differences between Mono 5 and Mono 5 and some of our 3rd party references require updated builds in order to support Mono 5.

We have a VsMac branch where we're trying to get this all working with Mono 5. For the most part, it is now working, but we're not going to be able to update the VS Code download package until the next release.

For now, the VS Code download will only compile under Mono 4.

After the next release, I don't think we'll be able to support compilation under Mono 4. We'll try, but at the moment it looks like they are just too different.

I'm going to move this thread to the Bugs forum as we'll be able to track better in there.

We're still working on this issue. The goal is to include Mono5 support with the Bridge 16.0 final release, but we're still dealing with a problem.

We will keep this thread updated with our progress.

We installed the recent Visual Studio for Mac release and were able to create a new C# Library project and add Bridge.NET using Project > Add NuGet Packages....
